The main goal of the IDEA Lab is to transform engineering education and to help students become more innovative. The lab aims to achieve high standards in line with the vision of a Skilled India, motivating youth to gain more skills and strengthening global partnerships for sustainable development.

About the Lab

AICTE IDEA Labs are being established in engineering colleges to help students develop their creative and problem-solving skills. These labs provide students with the resources they need to turn their ideas into prototypes. IDEA Labs are equipped with a wide range of tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and electronics kits, enabling students to design and build their own projects. In addition to technical skills, IDEA Labs help students develop 21st century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

Vision

The IDEA Lab also organises workshops, hackathons, and incubation programmes throughout the year, and offers funding and resources for students to prototype and test their ideas.
