Inauguration of ASCONIC 2026 – Report

The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Students' Association, ASCONIC 2026, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and grandeur on 06 August 2026, marking the beginning of a new academic year filled with innovation, leadership, and collaborative learning.

The programme commenced with the welcome address delivered by Ms. Aarniga S., Treasurer/ASCONIC, and  Ms. Ragavi N.,I  Office Bearer/ ASCONIC, introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Blessington Praveen P., Senior Engineer, Actuation, Control & Fluid Management Systems, Pricol Private Limited, Coimbatore, and an esteemed alumnus of the 2018–2022 ECE batch, delivered an inspiring address. He emphasized the importance of participating in government-sponsored hackathons and encouraged students to actively engage in innovation-driven competitions. He also shared valuable insights on securing funding for student projects and motivated students to undertake innovative projects in the emerging areas.

A special highlight of the program was the live demonstration and brief presentation of the ASCON and LIVI Robo working models by the students. These innovative project demonstrations served as an eye-opener for the audience, inspiring many students to take up research, product development, and project-based learning.

The Executive Committee Members and Office Bearers of ASCONIC 2026 were introduced by Dr. S. Mary Praveena, Associate Professor, Faculty Coordinator of ASCONIC. Certificates were presented to students who had won prizes in various technical and non-technical events conducted by different colleges, recognizing their outstanding achievements and encouraging continued excellence. Dr. A. N. Jayanthi, Associate Professor, Faculty Advisor of IETE, announced the student members of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and highlighted the benefits of professional society membership. The session was highly interactive and inspiring, leaving the students energized and eager to explore new opportunities in innovation, research, leadership, and professional development.

The inauguration concluded on a successful note, setting a vibrant tone for the academic year and fostering a strong spirit of teamwork, creativity, academic excellence, and professional growth among the students. The Department of ECE warmly invites all students to actively participate in the upcoming ASCONIC initiatives and activities, making the academic year 2026–2027 a remarkable journey of learning, innovation, and achievement.
